The device has a confined enclosure (1) to receive a wood load (4). Thermodynamic technical modules (2) e.g. columns, have ventilating and air drying units, and are positioned at a floor/ceiling in the enclosure. The modules send a conditioned air via an air outlet (7), and collect humid air via an air withdrawing inlet (8). Each module is connected to a thermodynamic exchanger positioned outside the enclosure to use calorific exchange capacity of exterior air to maintain ideal pre-drying conditions. The module is connected to a wood effluent collecting tank via a flexible or rigid pipe (6).
