The method involves adjusting a temperature and humidity in a closed enclosure (3), defining a donor medium and containing molecules or substances to be studied with the help of a temperature adjustment unit and a humidity adjustment unit. A membrane (2) is placed between the closed enclosure and an enclosure (4) defining a receiver medium, where the membrane contacts directly or through an additional enclosure with contents of the enclosures. Penetration of the molecules or substances is detected and quantified in the membrane. An independent claim is also included for a device for performing in vivo and in vitro detection and quantization of penetration of molecules or substances in a protective membrane of a living organism.
