The invention relates to the use of a nanometric material based on titanium oxides doped with nitrogen, in particular obtained by injection of a titanium oxide precursor in liquid or gaseous form, and a compound nitrogen gas in a laser pyrolysis reactor, as a cosmetic agent for protection against ultraviolet radiation.The invention improves the protection against UV and in particular against UVA.
