The device has a drift unit for drifting fraction of the charge air and circulating the charge air, where the charge air is drifted into a part e.g. outlet box (18), of a heat exchanger (14) e.g. air/air exchanger, to warm up the part. The drift unit includes a charge air by-pass channel (23) connected between a location of the heat exchanger near an inlet (15) of the heat exchanger and another location of the heat exchanger near an outlet (17) of the heat exchanger. An independent claim is also included for a method for preventing formation of material gel in a part of a heat exchanger to cool the charge air.
