The terminal has a keyboard (20) e.g. digital keyboard, distinct from a display (10) i.e. portable LCD. A program e.g. application program, is stored in a memory. The program modifies configuration data of the keyboard along a circular permutation, translation or rotation operation of sub-assemblies associated to keys of the keyboard before inputting information i.e. confidential code, by a user using the keyboard. The program controls the displaying of keyboard configuration on the display after modifying the configuration data.
