The door has an inner liner (18) fixed to an outer skin, where the liner and the skin form a cup having a base. The inner liner is pierced by a residual liquid evacuation hole (22) formed between the outer skin and the inner liner. A bottom point of the evacuation hole is located at a distance from the base of the cup, where the distance ranges between three-six millimeters. The inner liner is pierced by a residual liquid evacuation hole (24) that is displaced away from a base (20) of the hole (22). An independent claim is also included for a method for painting a body of a motor vehicle.
