A method is dedicated to rebuilding the clock of a client that uses a transport protocol, chosen in a set, to transport multiplexed signals according to each of the transport protocols of this set between equipments (ET, ER) via a communication network. This method consists of: - emission side (ET), to estimate the phase of the client's clock, so as to generate at least first samples (TS [k]) of a temporal marker representative of the estimated phase, then to transmitting to a receiving equipment (ER), via the network, these first samples, and- when receiving the first samples (TS [k]) in the receiving equipment (RE), i) determining the difference between the estimated phase and the phase of a local clock (H [k]), whose frequency is generated by a digital frequency synthesizer (MS), represented by a temporal marker defined by second samples (TS '[k]) ii) generating a sampled error signal (e [k]) representative of this phase difference, and iii) frequency filtering the error signal (e [k]) to supply the frequency synthesizer (MS) with a filtered error signal (c [k]), so that it generates from this last a local clock (H [k]) synchronized to the client's clock.
