The assembly has a free end fixed to a coupling hook assembly (18) extended below a floor (14) of a motor vehicle. A fixed connecting end (20) is connected to an articulation (22) of a spare wheel basket (10) that is tiltably mounted below the floor of the vehicle. The articulation has an additional stop i.e. projection (24), that locks the end (20) in position when a spare wheel (12) is tilted between an upper fixation position and a lower position in which a user accesses the wheel, where the stop is formed of metallic wires.
