The basket (1) has a free end (4) attached to an engaging hook (5), a fixed end (6) mounted in a pivot manner along a transversal axis of a vehicle, and a basket shaped main body (7) for accommodating a spare wheel (2). A thermal screen (8) is mounted at a periphery of the main body, and guides the spare wheel during insertion of the spare wheel in the basket. The main body is formed by metallic wires defining an edge and bottom on which the spare wheel is rested, where the thermal screen is mounted between the metallic wires.
