The device has a funnel cup shaped part (16) including a rear wall (17) inclined for forming a ramp that imposes a tension on connecting cables (1), where the device is in the form of a tubular protection case. The cables are entered and re-released via lower and upper sections (10i, 10s), respectively, where the section (10s) is smaller than the section (10i) for guiding and orienting the cables towards the center of the device to subject the cables to a constant tension so as to avoid risk of collision with an opening of a tunnel when covering a body, during mounting of a speed control. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting cables of a gearbox control in top position of a motor vehicle.
