The method involves estimating components (Fx, Fy, Fz) based on measurement of longitudinal, lateral and vertical constraints exerted on a tread block of a tire tread (20) of a tire (10) when the tread block is located in a contact area of the tire with the ground (12). Each estimated component is a linear function of integral of evolution of each constraint measurement during passing the tread block in the contact area. Each constraint measurement is oriented in a direction of each estimated component. An independent claim is also included for a device for estimating a component of a resultant of forces exerted by the ground on a tire of a motor vehicle during rolling of the tire.
