The element has a support structure (5) comprising main surfaces and a circumference forming the surfaces, where one of the surfaces has a groove (4) along the circumference. The structure is made of expanded polypropylene. A trim cover (3) covers the other surface and a portion of the circumference. The cover has a peripheral edge provided with a folding unit i.e. flexible folding profile, inserted in the groove for maintaining the cover. The profile made of flexible plastic material, runs parallel to a part of an edge of the cover and the profile is fixed on the part of the edge of cover. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a seat.
