The method involves subjecting an optical fiber (1) to a support device (2) by eight successive windings in a manner to form bottom and top loops including twist directions inversed with respect to each other at each winding. The windings are provided with a simple loop allowing displacement of the support device with respect to a connection point (B) and at an inlet of a connection section (C) of a communication network, where the support device includes an armature provided with a maintaining unit for maintaining the windings in form of the bottom and top loops. An independent claim is also included for an optical fiber support device comprising a maintaining unit for maintaining windings in the form of loops.
