The method involves filtering gliding signals shift and transmitted braking torque, and storing gliding of optimal setpoint (Sx, ij, cons) for tires. The gliding of the optimal setpoint of each tire with respect to route for wheels is obtained in real time from values such as longitudinal speed (Vref) of the vehicle, angular velocity of the wheel, measured braking torque (Cfr, ij, est) at the wheels and a Boolean variable (ABSij), where value of the variable is 1 if regulation is inactive and 0 if regulation is active. An independent claim is also included for a device for regulating an anti-lock of a wheel of a vehicle.
