The structure has a cowl collector (1) extended transversally under a rear edge (2a) of a bonnet (2). A lower edge (1a) of the collector is fixed to a rigid element (3) i.e. lower bulkhead, of the body shell structure of a motor vehicle. The collector has a central part deformed under the thrust effect exerted towards the bottom by the rear edge, in case of impact of head (7) of a pedestrian on the bonnet. The collector is made of pressed steel sheet, whose thickness ranges between 0.8 and 1.1 mm.
