The method involves identifying a need for rotationally driving a shaft of an accessory e.g. alternator (16), of a vehicle (2) i.e. motor vehicle, and displacing a controllable clutch from an engaged position towards a disengaged position in response to an acceleration control of the vehicle. An engine i.e. combustion engine (4), rotationally drives a disengageable pulley (8) for rotationally driving the shaft of the accessory of the vehicle, when the clutch is in the engaged position. The engine does not rotationally drive the pulley, when the clutch is in the disengaged position. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle comprising an engine.
