The device has a receptacle (1) enclosing transfer units (3), where an end of the receptacle is upwardly opened so as to communicate with a tanker (2) that receives chaff. Another end of the receptacle includes an opening (11) that emerges from a straw press. The transfer units include Archimedes screws (4, 5) placed horizontally and parallely to bring the chaff from the tanker to the straw press. The Archimedes screws have different lengths for discharging the chaff on entire width of the straw press.
