The method involves injection molding of a trim panel body (2) in which a groove cut (9) is formed at its rear surface (6). A groove is formed by deepening the groove cut using a punch type blade (22), where the groove cut has width (11) that is larger than twice the thickness (12) of the punch type blade used for cutting operation. A displacement of the punch type blade is controlled for controlling depth of the groove.
