The method involves applying an adhesive (30) on a partial area of a cover side region (21.1), a partial area of a surface region (19.1) or on a partial area of a groove flank (11.1). The flat material is cut along a section line, which runs parallel to a groove (11) and separates the cover side region from another cover side region (21.2). The flat material is moved into the groove till it does not rest against the groove flank and a groove base (11.3) after its positioning and before cutting.
