Regeneration cycle managing method for diesel engine of motor vehicle, involves comparing estimated and real trapped particle loading levels, and correcting predetermined particle emission model based on comparison result
The method involves detecting an estimated trapped particle loading level (17) in a particle filter from a predetermined particle emission model. A real trapped particle loading level (16) in the particle filter is determined from information of a measuring unit, where the measuring unit is formed by temperature and pressure sensors. The estimated and real levels are compared. The predetermined particle emission model is corrected based on the comparison result.
