PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute GPS positioning in cooperation with a sensor only in a necessary section, on reference to positioning error information of GPS positioning delivered from a server.;SOLUTION: A plurality of position information acquiring devices obtain position information by using a GPS positioning system, and when a prescribed condition is satisfied, detect estimated position error information at the GPS positioning time, and transmit the obtained position information and the detected estimated position error information to a data server. Meanwhile, the data server receives the position information and the estimated position error information from the plurality of position information acquiring devices, divides map information into blocks in a prescribed unit, generates a distribution database on the estimated position error corresponding to each block from the received information, and transmits estimated error distribution information to each position information acquiring device based on the generated database. Then, the plurality of position information acquiring devices receive the estimated error distribution information, select a positioning method based on the received estimated error distribution information at the GPS positioning time, and obtain the position information by the selected positioning method.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
