PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve security by preventing illegal taking-out of information equipment and illegal connection of information equipment, with respect to an information equipment security management device and a method of managing information equipment security. PSOLUTION: This information equipment security management device includes an electric lock 2 for fixing the information equipment 3 as a security management object, a first table for matching and registering a terminal identifying information and electric lock identifying information, a second table for storing the terminal identifying information, the electric lock identifying information and an unlocked or locked state of the electric lock corresponding to each other, a means for reading out the unique terminal identifying information and electric lock identifying information of the electric lock of the information equipment from the information equipment when the taking-out of the information equipment is required, and discriminating whether both are registered in a state of being corresponding to each other in the first table, and a means for unlocking the electric lock through LAN, when the registration is discriminated, and storing the terminal identifying information, the electric lock identifying information and the date of unlocking corresponding to each other in the second table.
