Equipment Authorization, Device Security Discussed at Workshop

As the FCC moves toward distributing $1.9 billion appropriated by Congress to fund the removal and replacement of communications network equipment and services deemed to be a national security risk, it is exploring exercising its equipment authorization powers to bar such threats from the U.S. market and reviewing past grants of international service authorizations, acting FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel said during an April 26 online supply chain security workshop jointly hosted by the FCC and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
