PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a signal versus noise ratio of an optical signal regardless of density of optical wavelength multiplexing.;SOLUTION: A modulation part 105 stops a wavelength-multiplexed optical signal only in a prescribed time at a prescribed cycle. A wavelength division part 202 divides an optical signal received from an optical transmission device 100 for each wavelength. Optical reception parts 204-1 to 204-N extract a timing in which the stop of the optical signal is generated at the prescribed cycle from the plurality of divided optical signals, and detects a strength in the timing when the stop of the optical signal extracted from the plurality of divided optical signals is generated and a strength in the timing when the stop of the optical signal is not generated, and calculates the signal versus noise ratio of each of a plurality of optical signals divided by calculating a difference between both strengths.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
