PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging method of a lithium ion battery, the method conducting charge sufficiently filling the capacity of a positive electrode. PSOLUTION: In the charging method of the lithium ion battery including a first positive electrode and a second positive electrode containing the same positive active material and electrically separated, and a negative electrode countering them through a separator, voltage is applied at constant current for charging across the second positive electrode and the negative electrode for the prescribed time (S1 to S2). After that, voltage is applied across the first positive electrode and the negative electrode for charging by using the second positive electrode as a reference electrode so that the potential of the negative electrode to the reference electrode becomes the prescribed potential or lower (S3 to S6).
