PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical axis adjustment method of a laser beam and an optical fiber and an optical axis adjustment device of the laser beam and the optical fiber for assisting the laser beam to further surely enter a core member of the optical fiber.;SOLUTION: The optical axis adjustment method and the optical axis adjustment device uses thin-plate type shielding plates 30 each having a through-hole H1 whose diameter is equal to the diameter R1 of the core member 50A. A laser beam source, a light condensing lens 20, the shielding plate 30 and a measuring means 40 are arranged so that the laser beam emitted from the laser beam source 10 is condensed by the condensing lens 20 and reaches the measuring means 40 after passing through the through-hole H1 of the shielding plate 30. The position of at least one of the laser beam source, the light condensing lens and the shielding plate is adjusted so that a laser output value measured by the measuring means can be the maximum, and at the adjusted position, the position of the laser beam source and the position of the light condensing lens are fixed, and also, the shielding plate 30 and the optical fiber are replaced with others so that the center of the end face of the core member of the optical fiber can be located in the through-hole position, and then, the position of the incident surface of the optical fiber is fixed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
