PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar light-emitting device capable of simply positioning and arranging a light guide sheet in which damages are hardly caused in the light source.;SOLUTION: The planar light-emitting device 10 is composed of a substrate 1, a light source 2 arranged at one face 1a of the substrate 1, and a light guide sheet 3 arranged on one face 1a side of the substrate 1 so that light from the light source 2 may be introduced to the side face 3a. The light source 2 is arranged separated from the side face 3a of the light guide sheet 3 and a plurality of positioning means 4 for arranging the light guide sheet 3 at an appropriate position are provided on the substrate 1, and, in the light guide sheet 3, first through holes 3h are provided along the thickness direction at the positions corresponding to the respective positioning means 4.
