PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for developing a medicament such as a vaccine against the infection of group B streptococcus (GBS), which is a main cause of neonatal infant mortality, specifically to provide a new adhesion factor of the GBS usable for the production of such the medicament. PSOLUTION: There are provided the nucleic acid coding for the adhesion factor of the group B streptococcus, and the adhesion factor of the group B streptococcus. Specifically, there are provided the polypeptide being such the adhesion factor, the polypeptide comprising a specific amino acid sequence, and the use of such the polypeptide for the manufacture of the vaccine.
