METHOD FOR EVALUATING VITAMIN E-BIOSYNTHESIZING GENE, METHOD FOR PROMOTING BIOSYNTHESIS OF VITAMIN E BY HEVEA BRASILIENSIS, AND TRANSFORMANT OF HEVEA BRASILIENSIS

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently evaluating whether a gene is the one associated with the biosynthesis of vitamin E in Hevea brasiliensis, and to provide a method for promoting the biosynthesis of the vitamin E by the Hevea brasiliensis, and creating the Hevea brasiliensis having a high content of the vitamin E. PSOLUTION: The method for evaluating whether the gene is the one associated with the biosynthesis of the vitamin E in the Hevea brasiliensis includes creating a transformant of Periploca to which the gene of an evaluation object is introduced, and evaluating that the gene is the one associated with the biosynthesis of the vitamin E by the Hevea brasiliensis when the content of tocotrienol or the content of tocophenol in the transformant is increased compared to that in the Periploca before the introduction of the gene. The method for promoting the biosynthesis of the vitamin E by the Hevea brasiliensis includes introducing the gene evaluated by the method to be the gene associated with the biosynthesis of the vitamin E by the Hevea brasiliensis into the Hevea brasiliensis.
