PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of measuring a tooth-surface shape with high accuracy along the mesh progressing direction of a gear. PSOLUTION: This method of measuring the tooth-surface shape along the mesh progressing direction of a gear, includes a process (S60) for measuring actual measurement values of the tooth-surface shape along the progressing direction, and a process (S70) for calculating the tooth-surface shape by multiplying the measurement values by a correction value CSBcomp/SBfound through the following mathematical expression (8). Here, CSBCV/SBstands for a correction value for an error of machine accuracy in a tooth form direction, CSBLD/SBfor a correction value for an error of machine accuracy in a tooth trace direction, for an angle formed between the form direction and the progressing direction, and for a torsional angle on a base circular cylinder of the gear.
