PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for specifically, simply and quickly detecting bacteria belonging to the genus Geosmithia widely distributed in nature, propagating on agricultural products such as vegetables and fruits, and contaminating foods and drinks using the agricultural products as the raw materials. PSOLUTION: The method for detecting bacteria belonging to the genus Geosmithia, identifying the bacteria belonging to the genus Geosmithia by using nucleic acids having a base sequence of the following (a) or (b) is provided. (a) A partial base sequence of β-tubulin gene, or its complementary sequence.
