PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a raw material of an anti-diabetic food or medicine, effective for the prevention and improvement of diabetes, and an anti-diabetic food or medicine containing the above raw material of the food or medicine.;SOLUTION: This raw material of the anti-diabetic food containing ginnalin B and/or ginnalin C, the raw material of the anti-diabetic food consisting of at least one kind of an extract and/or a concentrated extract selected from those of Acer pycnanthum and/or Acer ginnala Maxim, and containing at least the ginnalin B and/or ginnalin C, and the raw material of the anti-diabetic food or medicine consisting of at least one kind of the whole plant and/or leaves selected from those of Acer pycnanthum and/or Acer ginnala Maxim, and containing at least the ginnalin B and/or ginnalin C are provided.
