PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crosslinked rubber excellent in crosslinkability and heat resistance, which is obtained from a curable rubber composition excellent in moldability.;SOLUTION: The crosslinked rubber includes an ester-crosslinked rubber wherein a rubbery copolymer, obtained by copolymerization of an isomonoolefin and an aliphatic diene, is crosslinked through an ester linkage. The rubbery copolymer is dissolved in a solvent, hydroborated, then oxidized and hydrolyzed to give a hydroxy-modified copolymer having a hydroxy group added to a C-C double bond of the rubbery copolymer, which copolymer is mixed with a crosslinking agent having at least two functional groups which can form an ester linkage by reaction between the hydroxy-modified copolymer and a hydroxy group to give a curable rubber composition. A hydroxy group of the hydroxy-modified copolymer in the curable rubber composition is subjected to an esterification reaction with the functional group of the crosslinking agent to give the crosslinked rubber.
