PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle discharge lamp lighting device capable of easily coping with mutually conflicting requirement specifications from vehicular headlamp apparatuses having various designs. PSOLUTION: This on-vehicle discharge lamp lighting device 10 includes a lighting circuit 18 to light a discharge lamp mounted to a vehicle, and cases 11, 12 disposed in the vehicle with the lighting circuit 18 housed in the inside of them. In the lighting circuit 18, an input filter circuit 26, an output filter circuit 27 and the like are mounted to a first kind of printed wiring board 19, and a step-up/down circuit 28, a full bridge circuit 29, a control circuit 30, and the like are mounted to a second kind of printed wiring board 20, an input connector 14 connected with an external power supply and an output connector 15 for supplying power to the discharge lamp are mounted to the first kind of printed circuit board 19, the second kind of printed circuit board 20 is mechanically fixed to the case 11, and the first kind of printed wiring board 19 is mechanically fixed to the second kind of printed circuit board 20 or the case 11.
