PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device capable of detecting a ground fault even when a ground fault resistance at the ground fault is high, an on-vehicle high-brightness discharge lamp lighting device using the same, an on-vehicle head light device and a vehicle.;SOLUTION: A control section 7 stores voltage detection values for each reversible polarity.
