PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress collision of underwater obstacles with a guide vane behind a propeller.;SOLUTION: The pod propulsion unit 10 is provided with a strut 12 provided so as to be downwardly extended from a hull 11; a pod 13 provided on a lower end of the strut 12; and a propeller 14 rotatably provided on a front part of the pod 13. The pod propulsion unit 10 is provided with a guide vane 16 provided so as to be positioned behind the strut 12 on a rear part of the pod 13 and recovering a swirl flow generated by rotation of the propeller 14 as thrust. An inclination part 18 that inclination becomes large toward a rear side is provided between the propeller 14 at a front part of the pod 13 and the strut 12.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
