PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antimicrobial agent having excellent bactericidal and bacteriostatic activity against genus Candida fungus, those living in the oral cavity in particular, and also to provide a composition for the oral cavity and a denture cleanser each compounded with such an antimicrobial agent.;SOLUTION: The antimicrobial agent comprises a Sapindus rarak DC extract as active ingredient. Specifically, the antimicrobial agent comprises saponin extracted from Sapindus rarak DC.
