PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize automatic setting of transmitting wavelength of optical wavelength converting part in the optical wavelength division multiplexing apparatus.;SOLUTION: An optical wavelength converting unit of the optical wavelength division multiplexing apparatus is provided with a function for varying an optical output wavelength and a function for superimposing wavelength information on the transmitting data to extract the wavelength information from the receiving data and is capable of providing an output by sequentially changing the wavelength at the time of initial setting. When the wavelength of the output signal is matched with the wavelength of a connecting port of an optical wavelength multiplexing/demultiplexing unit, the wavelength information can be exchanged with the opposite side and the automatic setting of wavelength can be realized.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
