PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a device and a program for color matching, capable of calculating or indicating the proper compounding ratio of a transparent coating component and respective basic coloring materials, as to a non-hiding paint comprising the transparent coating component and the respective basic coloring materials. PSOLUTION: In this method for the color matching for the non-hiding paint comprising the transparent coating component and the respective basic coloring materials to be applied onto a substrate material, a sample color data including brightness L*SBST/SBis acquired, the brightness L*SB0/SBof the substrate material is acquired, approximation color sample applied object data of a color close to that of the sample data is selected, and the recommended compounding ratio of a recommended paint same in the compounding ratio of the fellow basic coloring materials and different in total compounding ratio DSBRE/SB, with respect to an approximation color sample paint is obtained, using the brightnesses L*SB0/SB, L*SBST/SB, brightness L* of an approximation color sample applied object, and total compounding ratio D of the respective basic coloring materials in the approximation color sample paint.
