PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To systematically break an electric power source to stop moving of a control rod, when a trouble is generated in an electric power source supplying device in the endmost terminal for an output. SOLUTION: In a drive controller for the control rod provided with a control rod driving device for driving vertically the control rod inside a nuclear reactor, the control rod driving power source supplying device, an electric power source device for supplying the electric power source to the control rod driving power source supplying device, a control rod position detector, and a control rod position controller, an electric power source breaker is provided between the control rod driving power source supplying device and the electric power source device, and a control rod driving electric power source monitor is provided to monitor the consistency between an output condition of a control rod driving signal and a moving-stopping condition of the control rod or a position thereof, and to output an electric power source breaking signal to the power source breaker so as to break power supply to the control rod driving power source supplying device when they are non-consistent.
