PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst which is used efficiently in the temperature range wider than that of the conventional catalyst to be used in a high temperature range, used for a shift reaction of water gas and used for cleaning exhaust gas and to provide a method for manufacturing the catalyst and a method for removing carbon monoxide or cleaning other exhaust gasses.;SOLUTION: The catalyst comprises a compound oxide comprising calcium and aluminum as main components and, if necessary, iron of 0.001-10 mol% based on the aluminum, wherein one or more metallic elements which are selected from Au, Ag, Cu, Pt, Pd, Ni, Ir, Rh, Co, Os and Ru are deposited on the compound oxide by 0.001-10 wt% based on the catalyst. The catalyst has 20-200 μmol/g oxygen storage capacity at 500°C and ≥20 m²/g specific surface area when measured by a BET method.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
