PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk reproducing apparatus using decoder elements not including an AV (audio visual) synchronization processing function and for performing an AV synchronization process by a firmware process when synchronization shift is generated between an audio signal and a video signal. PSOLUTION: When the audio signal precedes the video signal ("yes" in the step 5), the output of the audio signal is paused within a predetermined time equal to or shorter than the time of the synchronization shift between the video signal and the audio signal while using the time zone not outputting the audio signal (step 6). When the audio signal is delayed with respect to the video signal ("no" in the step 5), the audio signal is fast-forwarded by a predetermined time while using the time zone not outputting the audio signal (step 7), thereby the synchronization shift between the video signal and the audio signal can be corrected.
