PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a domain object to be used for a free form graphics system. ;SOLUTION: An icon representing a domain object can be operated like other graphic objects. A domain object is defined by a domain object class to define attributes 301, set 303 of action rules and a layout 302. The attributes 301 explain information or data related with the domain object. The set 303 of action rules maps a user action and a system event to operations to be performed to the domain object.
