PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method of hexavalent chromium capable of preparing a measuring sample simply in a short time, and determining easily inclusion in even a small quantity of a sample.;SOLUTION: Alkaline solvent 2 is dropped by using a pipette 4 onto a substrate 1 for evaluation, to thereby bring an evaluation sample 3 into contact with the alkaline solvent. When the contact state is kept as long as a prescribed time, if the sample 3 includes hexavalent chromium, the hexavalent chromium included in the sample 3 is extracted into the alkaline solvent 2 by the alkaline solvent 2. Thereafter, the alkaline solvent 2 by which the hexavalent chromium is extracted is dried and removed and then the sample 3 is removed, and a mass spectrum of the surface of the substrate 1 for evaluation from which the sample 3 is removed is directly measured. If the sample 3 includes hexavalent chromium, a peak showing CrO3- in the mass spectrum is detected, and thereby inclusion of hexavalent chromium in the sample 3 is determined by the detection of the peak.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
