PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a loss computation method required for the enhancement of the density of a power conversion device, wherein the influence of semiconductor element structure, wiring structure, passive component structure, and control method on semiconductor element loss and passive component loss is taken into account. PSOLUTION: Parameters which are set as the parameters for a power conversion device include: semiconductor element parameter, circuit parasitic parameter, passive component parameter, control parameter, and thermal circuit parameter. By using the total loss of the power conversion device computed from these parameters and the thermal circuit parameter, the temperatures of a semiconductor element and a passive component are computed. It is determined whether the obtained temperatures of the semiconductor element and the passive component have converged; and if they have converged, data on loss, temperature, parameter, and the like are stored.
