PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably cultivate Pueraria mirifica even in a cold district. PSOLUTION: In a method for cultivating the Pueraria mirifica, seed of the Pueraria mirifica is subjected to acid treatment or heat treatment, the treated seed is transplanted to cultivated soil, the cultivated soil is maintained at a temperature of 5C to 40C, preferably 10C to 30C, and water is supplied to a lower part of the cultivated soil, so that the seed of the Pueraria mirifica is germinated and grown. Then, the supply of the water to the lower part of the cultivated land is stopped, while the cultivated soil is maintained at the temperature of 5C to 40C, preferably 10C to 30C, so that roots of the Pueraria mirifica are enlarged. Further, a cambium layer of a stem, a bud, or a leaf, a tip part of a root, or a growing point of a tuber of the Pueraria mirifica may be implanted on a rootage bed as a substitute for the seed thereof, then transplanted to the cultivated soil, and grown.
