PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tripod whose legs can be opened and closed by one action and which is rapidly moved and housed and made small in size and light in weight by solving such a problem that a long leg part becomes a hindrance when a tripod for photography or a tripod type stand on which a measuring instrument is placed changes a position or moves, and a leg opening/closing method for the tripod.;SOLUTION: A stay body 7 is fixed on a main leg body 1, and a sliding knob 13 is slidably provided on the stay body 7. Leg opening bars 9 and 9 are constituted so that their one-side ends are pivotally supported to be turnable on the side surfaces of sub leg bodies 3 and 3, and the other ends are pivotally supported to be rotatable on the sliding knob 13. By such constitution, the easy-to-operate leg opening/closing type tripod whose leg bodies are opened by sliding the sliding knob to the upper part of the stay body, and closed by the gravity of the respective leg bodies by lifting up the tripod from a floor surface, and whose structure is simple and which is made small in size and light in weight is obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
