PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-repairing solid electrolyte membrane which has a characteristic of closing a through hole by its own capacity even if the through hole is generated in the solid electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell. PSOLUTION: This is a self-repairing solid polyelectrolyte membrane in which a thermoplastic resin exists in an electrolyte membrane having proton conductivity and the thermoplastic resin is melted by reacting to the cross leak heat generation due to the local breakage of the electrolyte membrane and fills the damaged portion, and the fuel cell using the same.
