PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temporary service transmission system capable of transmitting normal television service and temporary service through individual transport streams (TSs) and capable of achieving equivalent functions without reducing quality. PSOLUTION: A sending side apparatus 100 buries temporary service execution notification link descriptor in an SDT of a normal service TS in a medium stream, buries a temporary service end time transited link descriptor in an SDT of a temporary service TS and sends the medium stream through a digital broadcast network 300 (an SI edition control function 105, an SI edition function 107 and a sending function 109). A receiving side apparatus 200 extracts the SDT in the received medium stream, reports whether channel selection is possible or not based on the existence/absence of the temporary service execution notification link descriptor, reports a transferred destination at the end of the temporary service based on the existence/absence of the temporary service end time transferred link descriptor, and reproduces the medium stream (a channel selection function 201, a receiving function 202, an SI processing function 203, and a reproduction function 205).
