PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bast separator and a bast separation method, which enable the separation of a bast of a bast plant from a core material.;SOLUTION: A crushing machine 10 of the bast separator 1 comprises a driving roller 123 and a driven roller 124, which rotates in directions opposite to each other. Kenaf KP, which is inserted between both the rollers, is crushed by being pressurized in the state of being sandwiched between the rollers. After that, the kenaf KP is flown toward an inclined plane SL of a conveyor 22, which constitutes a separator 20, by a feed mechanism 13. After being transported up to a back end on the conveyor 22, separated from the core material CP by vibrations in transportation and turned into the bast BP, the crushed kenaf KP is recovered by being pulled away from the conveyor 22 by an ejection roller 25. A free roller 27, whose outer peripheral surface has many flexible bodies 27a, is provided above the conveyor 22, and the kenaf KP passes below the free roller 27 while bending the flexible body 27a, so that the bast BP and the core material CP can be further separated from each other.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
